Titans Rising – Locked Up, Part I
“So you admit it then? You let those two out. What about the rest of the Titans? Did you release them, too?”
“So you admit it then? You let those two out. What about the rest of the Titans? Did you release them, too?”
“Ma’am,” the detective said, “it’s fine if you want to drain the tub. Forensics is finished processing the entire home.”
“Shut up.” “Make me.” That was all I said before I slammed my lips onto his.
“Just because we grew apart doesn’t mean I don’t still love you.” He clears his throat. “As one of my best friends.”
He glanced up at me, dark eyes haunted, and voice dull, “Nem. It’s Hypnos. He’s back, Nem.”
“Peek-a-boo, I seee yoouuuu,” Emma said from nowhere, the “you” becoming a deep distorted growl.
“I’m the Primordial of Darkness, Atë. The shadows belong to me, and now so do you.”
I can’t even believe my eyes as Ate flies past me, falling to the ground with a speed even Hermes would have trouble tracking.
My heart dropped in my chest after hearing my mother speak up, bringing me back to reality. He will never love you…
“So, are you going to let me through, or should I just go home and let you geniuses sort this mess out all by yourselves? Because, honestly, I’m good either way.”
They watched me as I went by, the sleepwalkers, their eyes turned into his. They gave Cheshire cat grins and snickered.
“Who is this man? What did he mean by ‘sacrifice’? Is he going to kill my daughter in some freaky ritual you people do?”
“They haven’t fought in a war in centuries.” I paused, my voice turning cold. “And besides, the last time the Titans didn’t have me.”
My eyes are like a mood ring. Honestly, I don’t know what a mood ring is, that’s just what Corrine said. That’s my client…or was my client.
“You should have stayed! You should have stayed and been with us! We needed you! I needed you!”
